Slitti Cioccolato Artigianale Chocolate is manufactured in the Italian town of Monsumanno Terme, which belongs to the Tuscany region.

The company “Slitti” was established in 1969 by Luciano Slitti. At first he was roasting coffee. In 1988 he decided to start the manufacture of chocolate as well. Passion for making chocolates and a careful selection of raw materials are the secrets of success.

Several gold medals in international chocolate competitions are the results of his highly gifted chocolate creations.

So it was a true pleasure to me to taste the Slitti Cioccolato Artigianale Chocolate “Lattenegro” with 51% cacao.

On the wrapping I read that Lattenero is a top quality milk chocolate. Its particular taste is given by the highest percentage of cacao which is selected at the origin from the most prestigious plantations. In Lattenero every single flavour of the cacao is enhanced and the addition of a right quantity of milk makes it a top quality product.

Lattenro is unique, as characterized by perfect balance between cocao, mik and sugar, thus being able to satisfy even the most demanding gourmets. The chocolate bar consits 51% cacao.

So what is my opinion of Slitti Cioccolato Artigianale Chocolate Lattenegro? At first I have experienced a bitter taste. The slight flavour of sweetness comes slowly by melting on the tongue. Slitti Cioccolato Artigianale Chocolate Lattenegro is quite a good chocolate bar, if you like bitter chocolates, but for me the Spanish chocolate “Enric Rovira Rajoles” was better. I also have in mind I even liked the Laima Chocolate from Latvia better. Maybe 51% of cacao is already to much for my gustatory nerves, but in spite of that I am a fan Slitti Cioccolato Artigianale Chocolate. It’s a good one. Just a bit bitter.
